Andrew Tate back in Romanian court as new charges emerge
Prosecutors in Romania are requesting a court in Bucharest to keep under custody the popular internet influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan while they look into some serious and alarming accusations, such as engaging in sexual activities with a minor and involvement in trafficking underage individuals.
The pair of males showed up in the courtroom on Thursday afternoon.
The latest study includes 35 people who claim to be victims, one of whom was only 15 years old at the time.
According to a declaration from Romania's anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, a total of six individuals, including both Romanian citizens and foreigners, have been arrested.
The Tate brothers have faced allegations of human trafficking and Andrew Tate has been accused of rape. They are currently awaiting trial for these charges.
They firmly refuted any misconduct and are denying the official accusations being brought against them. These are fresh and distinct allegations.
The agency dedicated to fighting organized crime stated that the suspects were manipulating and exploiting individuals who were considered "vulnerable". These individuals were subsequently relocated to various places and coerced into creating pornographic content for online distribution.
One of the men from another country is being accused of making a 17-year-old person from another country engage in sexual acts in order to create videos for the internet. It is alleged that he kept all of the $1.5 million profit. The individual in question is not named in the statement.
The man is being accused of having sex with a girl who was 15 years old when they first met. This is not the first time he has been accused of this behavior.
Following hours of questioning at the DIICOT offices, Andrew Tate spoke to the BBC on Wednesday evening, dismissing the latest allegations as "ridiculous" and accusing prosecutors of being "desperate". He claimed that they had fabricated much of the information.
He also mentioned being accused of using the tactic known as "lover-boying" on the mother of his kids. This is when criminals take advantage of their victims' weaknesses and manipulate them.
A well-known woman-hater with a large online fan base, Andrew Tate has claimed on Twitter/X that the allegations against him are part of a widespread effort to suppress his voice.
In the latest update, the prosecutors claim that the brothers purchased four high-end vehicles and put them under the names of different individuals to conceal the profits from their illegal actions.
Overall, it is said that the defendant earned approximately $2.8 million from exploiting others sexually.
The individuals held in custody are also alleged to have tried to scare or threaten the people who were harmed or saw the crime.
In a 10-hour investigation of four locations on Wednesday, authorities confiscated money and various belongings such as high-end watches, computers, storage devices, and paperwork. Additionally, they seized 16 luxury vehicles.
The Tate brothers were arrested late on Wednesday night after being questioned, along with four Romanian individuals.
However, in order to keep the suspects in custody for longer than a day, the district attorneys needed to present them before a magistrate, and the siblings showed up in front of the judge shortly after.
