Hey, all you romantic comedy fans, celebrity news enthusiasts, and those who enjoy sneaking a peek at a great first date at a bar—today’s your day! Andrew Garfield has made his debut on Chicken Shop Date. Following Amelia Dimoldenberg's unforgettable red-carpet interviews with him that took the internet by storm, the two finally got together to enjoy some chicken nuggets and charming banter.

Given that fans have been wanting this to happen for two years — their tension first became apparent on the red carpet at a GQ event — it could have easily been a disappointment. With such high expectations, I'm pleased to say that these two have delivered one of the best CSD videos we've seen. Their chemistry is incredibly authentic, and Garfield, unlike some of Dimoldenberg's previous guests, shows a real interest in both the format and his host.

When Dimoldenberg mentions that she isn't shy about asking people out, whether at the chicken shop or elsewhere, he completely agrees. "I find that attractive. It’s genuinely appealing," he replies. He compliments her sense of humor, and when she reciprocates, he insists, "You're the funnier one; that's something I really admire about you." Feeling a little starstruck yet?

Garfield's major change happens around the middle of the episode when he looks at all the film gear and asks, “If this wasn’t around, do you really think we would have gone out on a date? Doesn’t it seem messed up that we could have actually had a date at some point? I think it’s possible.” At that moment, you could practically hear every romance novelist suddenly getting inspired with the same concept for their upcoming novel.

What’s in store for these two moving forward? Garfield is now single, which is a good sign. Personally, I would love to see them reunite every decade, similar to Before Sunrise. This way, they can keep things intriguing and mysterious without revealing everything we desire — that would take away some of the allure.
