Strictly's Amy Dowden opens up on 'protective' husband Ben following life-changing honeymoon | HELLO!

At last, my husband Ben, I understand it was hard for you to allow the cameras in when you wanted to be cautious and optimistic. I feel fortunate to have you and will always love you.
Amy shared with HELLO! that she discovered a lump in her right breast in April 2023, just before she and Ben jetted off to the Maldives for their delayed honeymoon.
While bathing, Amy discovered a firm lump in her right breast. She was taken aback and checked again to confirm. Her initial thought was that it could be related to her period or many other things. Amy decided to monitor it for a few weeks. While on vacation, she applied body lotion daily and became more aware of the lump.
"I began to monitor it less because it was causing me concern, and I didn't want to aggravate my Crohn's disease. Later, when we returned home, I participated in a dance performance with Ben and as I was applying shimmer, I noticed that the lump felt significantly larger. I had a gut feeling that I should see a doctor," she explained.
Once she learned she had advanced breast cancer, she decided she wanted to document her experience and gave her consent to be featured on the BBC program Fight of My Life only a week afterwards.
The Welsh dancer, who also has Crohn's disease, has spoken openly about her loving husband in the past. She shared with HELLO! magazine, "Ben always focuses on the good and he only discusses the positive aspects of things."
He kindly mentioned in his own words: "Amy has faced many challenges in her life and, as I predicted, has demonstrated remarkable strength in the recent weeks.
We have a great network of family and friends who will be there to help us in the upcoming months. We are keeping a positive attitude and looking forward to what lies ahead.
