The skilled performer who is 33 years old got the news that she had breast cancer in May. She had surgery to remove her breast in July and therefore had to take a year-long break from performing to focus on getting better.

However, she made it back to the finale and appeared to be enjoying herself as she reunited with her friends backstage during the performance.

She posted pictures on social media with "Strictly Come Dancing" finalist Dianne Buswell and fellow dancers Nancy Xu and Gorka Marquez.

Chemotherapy resulted in neuropathy, which led to a temporary loss of sensation in her hands and feet. Consequently, she landed on her foot awkwardly, causing a break in her metatarsal bone.

Just a few weeks after fracturing her foot, Amy had to be quickly taken to the hospital due to suffering from another illness.

The skilled individual who performs choreographed routines for a living was informed she had a mass of clotted blood in her lung, but fortunately, she is recuperating nicely thanks to injections that prevent blood from clumping together.

Amy said that she's handling things on a daily basis. She believed that once she rang the bell, everything would be alright, but it hasn't been easy for her mentally. She thinks it's a lot more challenging now. The journey isn't finished yet.

"I've been deprived of what I cherish the most and I consider it a merciless act."

Amy shared her life-altering experience since she was diagnosed with cancer in May, during an interview for the December cover story of Women's Health UK.

The performer asserted: 'I simply desire to be regarded as regular. I don't want to receive compassionate gazes or pity when I wear my headscarf outside – I'm still Amy.

Occasionally, folks struggle with how to approach the subject. Simply inquire about my condition and I will gladly reply. Our desire is not for you to have pity on us. We accept our reality and are resolute in our stance. Join us in being steadfast and don't cast those sorrowful glances my way – they are not necessary.
