Strictly Come Dancing: Amanda Abbington demands backstage footage after being left her in tears
According to reports, Amanda Abbington, a well-known contestant from Strictly Come Dancing, has requested that the BBC provide her with footage from backstage of her rehearsals. This is due to her dance partner causing her to become emotional and cry during the practice sessions.
According to reports, the 51-year-old actress is eager to go through the recordings after leaving the successful television program in October for health reasons.
Abbington, who has been seen in Mr Selfridge and Sherlock, exited Strictly due to poor health. However, a close pal recently disclosed to The Sun that the performer spent an extensive duration crying during filming.
The newspaper was informed that Amanda's spirits were crushed and she felt really sad because of the entire ordeal. It was necessary for her to seek therapy since she was traumatized by the inappropriate conduct she witnessed.
She needed several months to recover from the traumatic experience. She was incredibly enthusiastic about joining the show to improve her dancing skills, but instead, she went through a distressing event.
Abbington had a dance show partner named Giovanni Pernice, who is known to be very attentive to detail and intense, according to a source on the set of Strictly.
According to reports, the two individuals had several conflicts while rehearsing together. Abbington supposedly thinks that the rehearsal recordings could reveal the disputes. She has recently been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and is seeking legal guidance.
Her buddy included: "Everybody else was having an extraordinary time, but she was very anxious due to the fact that she had to spend eight hours each day with Giovanni. She spent a considerable amount of time weeping and was not able to get proper sleep or consume her meals."
According to an initial source, someone asked the BBC for a record of the footage featuring Amanda and Giovanni that they currently possess.
A request for access to personal data is commonly referred to as a data subject access request. It is believed that the recordings may reveal what truly happens behind the scenes during the filming of Strictly. The rehearsals can reportedly become quite intense.
According to reports, the duo had a disagreement due to a rigorous practice schedule. Abbington found it challenging to cope with her partner's forceful approach and behavior during training.
According to reports, Mr Pernice, who emerged victorious in the 2021 edition of the show with his partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, has supposedly experienced disagreements with several of his former celebrity dance partners.
In 2016, Laura Whitmore, who previously presented Love Island, expressed her dissatisfaction with training alongside him by claiming that she wept every day and experienced discomfort.
After the performance, she disclosed, "I was assigned a dance partner who made me feel extremely uneasy, and eventually, it shattered me emotionally. I shed tears every single day."
"I was completely shattered, both emotionally and physically, when it was all over."
According to reports, the 33-year-old dancer from Sicily had a dispute with TV and radio host Richie Anderson while participating in the 2022 competition.
The judges reacted favorably to Abbington and her partner's live performances until she left the show on October 21st. Despite this, she was not given the opportunity to perform in the show's finale.
The Telegraph has asked the BBC to provide a comment.
