Pereira, a talented kickboxer, quickly rose through the ranks in the UFC and became a champion in two different weight classes in just two years. He defeated Prochazka in November to claim the 205lb title, after already holding the 185lb championship.

And this past Saturday (June 29th), at the headline fight of UFC 303, Pereira defeated Prochazka by knockout in the second round for the second time, successfully defending his light-heavyweight title once again.

During the last moment of the first round, Pereira knocked down Prochazka with a powerful left hook. Shortly after the beginning of the second round, Pereira dropped the Czech fighter with a head kick. Pereira then proceeded to defeat the former champion with strikes on the ground.

"Pontan" celebrated his second successful title defense with this victory, after previously defeating former champion Jamahal Hill in April.

Pereira, who is 36 years old, and Prochazka, 31, replaced Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler as the main event after it fell apart earlier this month.

McGregor, who was set to make a comeback after three years, had to withdraw from UFC 303 due to a broken toe that he suffered two weeks before the event. This injury forced him to cancel his scheduled fight against Chandler in Las Vegas.

UFC 303 had a lot of last-minute changes, with Brian Ortega pulling out of his co-main event against Diego Lopes due to sickness. This led Dan Ige to step in on short notice, travel to the T-Mobile Arena, weigh in, and fight Lopes with only four hours' notice.

Lopes defeated Ige by decision in their fight at a catchweight of 165 pounds between the featherweight fighters.

In another part of the card, the Irish fighter Ian Machado Garry won a close fight against London's Michael "Venom" Page in the welterweight division.
