Alan Cumming recently shared the indication that made him realize that his testicles were getting older. He became aware of this after conducting a personal examination at home and then consulting with a skin specialist.
On This Morning's Thursday episode, the 58-year-old host of Traitors US discussed in detail something he discovered in the lower level while conversing with Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson.
Alan had shared details about his upcoming stage performance titled Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age. He mentioned that he only truly feels his age when he goes to see the dermatologist.
"Due to my light complexion and frequent sun exposure," he started off, and then followed up with, "I trust that it's appropriate for me to make this observation."
Alan said: 'I undergo these mole examinations regularly, and once when I was taking a shower, I casually checked my genitals for any unusual marks.'
Stressing the significance of self-checks for testicular cancer and spreading awareness, the actor from X-men stated: 'While performing a self-exam, I spotted two small crimson spots on one of my testicles.'
"It felt as if a Sharpie marker had been used to make two dots on one of my testicles."
He made a joke to the laughing hosts, saying that it's possible someone already did that, and he just didn't realize it.
Alan continued speaking: 'I visited the skin specialist and asked, what are these tiny bumps? Are they pimples?'
"And he exclaimed, "Don't fret Alan, it's just a natural aspect of scrotal aging.""
Craig burst into laughter when he heard about the concept of 'scrotal ageing' and responded by saying that it's strange, as the scrotum already looks old to begin with.
Alan said that the people in discussion appeared old from the time you were a baby. He also mentioned that aging of the scrotum is a real phenomenon.
Alan made a humorous remark about his aging process in his book Baggage, bringing up the topic of his ‘grey pubes’. When asked by Metro.co.uk about his upcoming show, Alan Cumming’s Not Acting His Age, he explained that it will delve into societal expectations as one ages and that he is confident in his ability to tackle the subject with humor and insight.
"Check For Testicular Cancer: Self-Examination Guide"
The Movember organization suggests that you take a few moments each month, while in the shower or bath, to conduct a self-examination of your testicles. It is a quick and easy process that only takes a few minutes to complete.
Use your fingers to roll each testicle separately and feel for what's typical of them. Then, perform the same procedure on the other testicle.
If you perceive a alteration in dimension or form, a bump that wasn't there previously, or if they start causing discomfort on contact, seek medical assistance.
Although my age is increasing, I still have a youthful spirit and have companions who are also young. I engage in the same activities that I used to do, but I have the added benefit of being wise due to my life experiences. I have a positive view on aging and embrace it.
In our society, there is an intriguing notion that getting older is the most unfavorable occurrence. However, we have the option to view it as a positive experience.
The program This Morning is broadcasted on weekdays at 10am on the ITV1 channel.
