9 Feb 2023

18:54

63 min - Al-Wehda ring the changes

Al-Wehda have made a couple of changes, but they are well beaten here and it's just about keeping the score down now.

18:53

61 min - Ronaldo has four!

It's another goal for Al-Nassr, it's another goal for Ronaldo.

This time the ball is played in behind and he runs onto it. His first shot is a little tame and is parried back out, but he is first onto the rebound and tucks it away.

57 min - Al-Nassr denied a fourth

Al-Wehda look scared to put a tackle in as Al-Nassr get into the box, and Sami stretches his toe out to get a shot away, but the keeper comes out quickly and smothers his effort.

56 min - Rodrigues sees his shot parried away

Rodrigues has been Al-Wehda's most dangerous attacker and he gets a shot off from the edge of the area.

It's not particularly convincing goalkeeping, but he palms it away and Al-Nassr clear.

18:44

53 min - Ronaldo completes his hat-trick!

Ronaldo steps up, and puts it right in the bottom corner!

There's the hat-trick, and what a night for Ronaldo.

18:42

50 min - Penalty given!

The referee has overturned his decision after consulting with VAR and Al-Nassr have a penalty. Can Ronaldo get his hat-trick?

48 min - Al-Nassr want a penalty

Al-Nassr are appealing for a penalty for handball and it's not the worst shout.

The ball certainly strikes his arm, and VAR will take a look...

47 min - Ghareeb denied a third goal for Al-Nassr

Ronaldo turns provider this time as he sets up Ghareeb with a neat pass into his path.

He hits his shot well, but the keeper gets down to hold on down low to his right.

18:37

We are back underway...

Al-Wehda start the second half, and they have made a change, with Karim coming off the bench. He replaces Al-Ghamdi.

The players are back out...

Can Ronaldo get his perfect hat-trick?

He's scored with both feet, so can Ronaldo get a headed goal to complete the perfect hat-trick?

We'll soon find out as the second half will be getting underway shortly.

And here's his second...

He had to wait over two minutes to find out whether his second goal would count, but it did.

Another well-taken goal, this time with his favoured right foot.

A look at Ronaldo's first goal...

Ronaldo struggled to make an impact early on in that first half, but he only needed one clear sight of goal and he took his first goal so well.

See for yourselves...

18:19

Half time

The referee signals the end of the half and Al-Nassr are in full control thanks to Ronaldo's brace.

4 minutes added time

We will have four minutes added on, much of which came from that VAR check.

44 min - Ronaldo onside by the smallest of margins

They've just shown a replay with the lines, and they are pretty much on top of each other.

The longer the check went on, you thought it might be chalked off, but Ronaldo has his second goal of the game.

18:14

42 min - Goal stands!

It's been given! After over 2 minutes of checking, the goal stands!

18:11

40 min - Ronaldo scores again!

He's done it again!

It's well worked through the middle of the pitch, and Ronaldo latches onto a through ball.

He bides his time and slots it past the keeper. It's very close for offside, VAR will check this...

37 min - Al-Wehda finally have a shot on target

It's taken 37 minutes but Al-Wehda have finally tested the Al-Nassr keeper.

However, it's the simplest of saves as a looping header from a free-kick drops into his hands.

33 min - Al-Nassr remain on top

Al-Nassr are still the team forcing the issue, and they win a corner, but the keeper does well to punch clear under pressure.

28 min - Ronaldo gets out his box of tricks

Ronaldo is clearly feeling confident after his goal and starts trying out his tricks and flicks.

It doesn't end well for him as he plays the ball out of play for a throw-in.

26 min - Al-Wehda not offering much so far

Other than that one shot that came back off the post, Al-Wehda have struggled to get anything going.

They are now caught offside, and it's Al-Nassr looking comfortable at the moment.

23 min - Deafening noise inside the stadium

It was already very loud inside the stadium, but it's just gone up a notch or two since that goal.

VAR checked the goal, but Ronaldo was well onside, and you have to say he took the goal very well.

17:52

21 min - Goal for Ronaldo!

Ronaldo has his second Al-Nassr goal!

He peels off the shoulder of the last defender and hits a left-foot shot across goal and into the bottom corner.

And he's even dropped the 'Siu' celebration. Al-Nassr lead!

18 min - Al-Wehda hit the post!

Al-Nassr have been well on top, but it's the hosts who almost take the lead.

Rodrigues turns away from his man from a throw-in and unleashes a shot that beats the keeper but crashes back out into play off the post.

16 min - Ronaldo's free-kick deflected wide

Ronaldo steps up and... it hits the wall and goes behind for a corner.

Al-Nassr are then caught offside from the corner.

15 min - Free-kick to Al-Nassr in a dangerous area

Al-Nassr win a free-kick about 25 yards out from goal after a late tackle.

Ronaldo will fancy this...

11 min - Ronaldo shot blocked

A first sight of goal for Ronaldo as he picks the ball up on the edge of the box.

He gets his shot off, but it is well blocked, and the keeper pounces on the loose ball.

7 min - Ronaldo frustrated

Al-Nassr have a good chance to play in Ronaldo as he makes a good run through the middle, but the pass is over-hit and goes through to the keeper.

Ronaldo looks to the heavens in frustration.

Al-Nassr then get their first shot on goal but Ghareeb's effort goes comfortably wide.

3 min - First attack from Al-Wehda

Al-Wehda work the ball over the top down the right-hand side and get a cross into the box but it's well defended and Al-Nassr clear their lines.

1 min - Ronaldo wins an early free-kick

Ronaldo is straight into the game and wants a free-kick for a shirt pull.

Not much in it, but he gets his way this time. Al-Nassr dominating possession early on.

17:30

And we're off...

Ronaldo gets the game underway.

The teams are out...

Both teams come out of the tunnel. It's some atmosphere inside the stadium. We are just a few minutes away from kick-off.

We are almost ready to get underway...

The current state of play in the Saudi Pro League...

Al-Nassr are currently second in the table, three points behind leaders Al-Shadab. Al-Nassr have two games in hand on Al-Shadab and can go top tonight on goal difference with a win.

Meanwhile, Al-Wehda are down in 13th place, having picked up 15 points from their 15 matches to date.

Al-Nassr's starting XI...
