The beginning wasn't very smooth for the 83-year-old Scarface actor. He cracked a strange joke about reading Shakespeare as soon as he stepped onto the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to give out the last award of the night.

He exclaimed, "Wow! This is truly amazing. Thank you so much, everyone. My dear friends, I am incredibly grateful for your support. However, I'm not sure if reciting Shakespeare is a good idea right now. We have one last award to present tonight, and I'm excited to have the privilege of doing so!"

Pacino is an award-winning actor known for his role in the movie Scent of a Woman, which was made in 1992. During the awards ceremony, he failed to acknowledge the other nominees when he said, "There are ten amazing films nominated, but only one will win the award for best picture. I will have to open the envelope to reveal the winner, and I am doing so now. And the winner is Oppenheimer, as I can see with my eyes."

The recipient of the Best Picture award at the 96th Academy Awards was immediately declared to be Oppenheimer.

Many people on social media were baffled by the mistake, expressing that it was "extremely disorganized and unclear".

"Performed poorly! Didn't even present the candidates," expressed another individual.

One out of three people said it was "uncomfortable," while another out of four people stated: "He seemed exhausted, after all, he is 83 years old."

There were a bunch of other movies that were up for the award alongside this one. Some of them were called American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest.
