”Nothing compares to that, in terms of atmosphere and what it meant”

AFC Wimbledon

Although Ronan Curtis and Josh Neufville haven't been with us for long, they understood the significance of the win on Saturday as they emerged as the match winners.

Josh remarked that it was an uncommon game to participate in. Despite having played in several games at his young age, none of them can compare to the ambiance and importance that this particular game held for the Club.

"When I joined the Club during the summer, I was informed that this game was of utmost importance and it was essential for us to win. Our team's performance on the field demonstrated just how much this match meant to us."

Below, you will find a compilation of the important instances and responses from both Josh Neufville and Ronan Curtis.

Josh mentioned that the victory was important to their kit men, Robin Bedford and Trevor Williams. Although everyone in the Club valued the win, Robin and Trevor had a special connection to the game. The gaffer and the rest of the staff were also pleased with the result, especially considering their recent string of losses. Overall, the Club experienced a blend of various emotions.

Ronan is a very important member of our team as he joined us from League One. He deserves a lot of praise for his impressive recovery from an ACL injury that kept him out for eleven months. He performed really well despite not starting the match. He was able to generate a number of opportunities and eventually, his efforts created the perfect chance for the right teammate to capitalize on.

During our recent matchups against Mansfield and Barrow, Ronan Curtis made notable contributions by scoring. In addition, he also proved to be a super sub during our confrontation with Milton Keynes Dons. He entered the game with merely ten minutes left and scored a crucial goal during a time when the game was already added on.

Ronan stated that they had a debt to repay to the other team since the last time they played them on their home ground and did not perform well. They emphasized the importance of the upcoming game all week and encouraged each other to give their best effort. The team performed admirably during the game.

The celebration was chaotic! But I'm happy that I was able to score the winning goal in an important match.

Playing in the match was intense. I felt some disappointment when I learned I wasn't going to start. I have a strong desire to be on the field for every game, but the boss is conscientious as I am still in the process of healing from a previous injury. In any event, whenever my name was called, I came through with a strong performance.

Josh worked very hard. He has been away for some time due to his back problem, but it's fantastic that he has come back now. We anticipate Joe Lewis and Ryan Johnson's return within the upcoming few weeks.

The two players on the sides gave compliments to Omar Bugiel who was named the MVP of the game by the sponsor. Bugiel showcased the essence of Wimbledon's spirit by giving his all during the match.

Ronan expressed that the person in question is constantly being pushed around and receives little acknowledgement for all their hard work for the team. Ronan is extremely enthusiastic for them after receiving the man of the match award, as they performed exceptionally well.

Josh commented by saying: "He contributes a lot to the team. I was alongside him at Sutton during the previous season and it's common knowledge in the league that he's quite a challenge to deal with. He's skilled at heading the ball, making tackles, and running; all of which makes him an ideal representation of Wimbledon Football Club."

Johnnie Jackson modified the defensive players, including giving John-Joe O'Toole his first complete match and Kofi Balmer unexpectedly started after healing a hamstring problem. They significantly contributed to Alex Bass achieving his twelfth game without conceding a goal.

Josh commented that the game was unique. John-Joe managed to integrate into the team, although he didn't have as much involvement as he wished. Kofi returned after recovering from an injury that was adequately handled. He only missed about a week of play. Despite the significance of the game, everyone managed to fit in quite well.

Ronan expressed his admiration for Kofi, acknowledging his proficiency in making long throw-ins, which poses a threat to the opposing team. They modified their strategy, which they have been practicing all week, and it proved to be successful. John-Joe's physicality and strength were recognized, as he triumphed in winning headers and tackles, and also contributed to the team's efforts. Ronan was elated about John-Joe's debut.
