Adele announces ‘big break’ from music
Adele has declared her plans to take a break from making music after her upcoming series of concerts in Munich.
The British singer informed German broadcaster ZDF that she is exhausted from performing every weekend in Las Vegas. She stated that she currently has no intentions to create new music.
I would like to take a break and explore other creative pursuits for a short period of time.
Adele has been putting on her special Weekends With Adele shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since November 2022, and will be wrapping it up on November 23rd.
Before the last shows in Vegas, she will be in Munich for the summer performing two concerts every week for five weeks in a specially designed venue.
The person in charge of promoting the Munich residency, Marek Lieberberg, has announced that almost all the tickets have been bought. The concert stage will have the biggest screen ever used, measuring 220m in length and 30m in height.
Talking to ZDF, Adele explained that the screen is very big and it will make 80,000 people feel like she is speaking directly to each one of them.
The concert venue is huge, covering an area of 400,000 square meters. It features a 13,000 seat food hall called "Adele World" with an authentic English pub.
Adele mentioned that she expected a calmer reaction from the European audience compared to the energetic Las Vegas crowd. She noted that fans in Europe tend to be more reserved and polite, in contrast to the louder and more enthusiastic American fans.
Adele's weekend segments have received high praise from both viewers and reviewers, with videos often becoming popular due to her honest and compassionate conversations with followers.
She is currently in Germany before starting her residency in Munich. She went to the Euro 2024 championship and ended up creating an unexpected viral moment. While watching England play against the Netherlands in the semi-finals, she told the Dutch fans to be quiet right before Harry Kane scored a penalty.
Adele's latest album, "30," was released in November of 2021 and quickly became a huge success, topping the music charts in both the UK and the US. It was the best-selling album of the year in the US, achieving this feat just one day after its release. The album's lead single, "Easy on Me," also reached the No. 1 spot in both countries.
