In May, Sam mentioned that she thinks discussions about age differences are “weird.”

“I find it really odd when people create movies or discuss, question, or analyze age differences,” she remarked. “When love happens, it simply happens.”

When reflecting on her marriage with Aaron, Sam remembered how people initially reacted. She said, “At first, everyone warned us it was a bad decision and that it wouldn't last. Now, 15 years later, with four kids grown up, we're here thinking, ‘Is that really true?’”

A few months ago, Aaron appeared to justify marrying Sam at such a young age.

In an interview with Rolling Stone UK, Aaron shared his perspective on the pressure to meet age-related expectations. He explained, “You have to understand that while many people were experiencing things in their 20s, I was doing those same things when I was just 13.”
