Ukraine warns of WW3 ahead of long-stalled Congress aid vote

World War Three

Check out: Ukrainian Prime Minister cautions about the possibility of a global conflict if Russia emerges victorious.

According to the BBC, Ukraine's leader has warned that if they are unable to resolve their ongoing battle with Russia, it could lead to a global conflict known as a "Third World War." He also called upon the United States Congress to finally pass a foreign aid bill they have been delaying.

Denys Shmyhal showed cautious hope that the heated measure with $61 billion reserved for Kyiv would be approved by US lawmakers.

The upcoming Saturday is the day when the proposed package will be voted on by the House of Representatives.

The suggestion entails financing for both Israel and the Indo-Pacific region.

During an interview with BBC in Washington DC, Prime Minister Shmyhal urgently expressed the importance of receiving security assistance from the US stating, "We require this funding immediately, not in the future."

He mentioned that if we fail to safeguard Ukraine, it will succumb to danger. This would lead to the collapse of the entire global security system, forcing everyone to search for an alternative safety measure.

Alternatively, there may be numerous disputes and wars of various types, which could eventually escalate into the global catastrophe known as the Third World War.

Ukraine has previously given warnings about the potential outcomes of its loss and this latest warning is not an exception.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated last year that if Russia emerged victorious in the conflict, they might proceed to invade Poland which could lead to a global conflict known as World War III.

However, officials from the Kremlin have mocked these allegations as unnecessary Western agitation. Putin, the President of Russia, refuted theories that Russia could attack Eastern Europe, calling it "absurd" just last month.

Russia has not once invaded any country belonging to Nato, Poland included. By carrying out a collective defense agreement, Nato ensures that an assault on any single member is considered an attack on them all.

During the interview on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shmyhal was questioned regarding the statement made by the Chairman of the Republican House Foreign Affairs, Michael McCaul that spread concerning Russian propaganda was affecting members of his political party.

According to Mr. Shmyhal, the impact of disinformation and propaganda is widespread in countries like the United States, the European Union, and even Ukraine. It is important for us to recognize this reality.

The right-wing faction of the Republican party has been obstructing the possibility of providing aid to Ukraine for several months.

A recently aired documentary produced by the BBC highlights the Ukrainian military's mission to defend their country. The programme sheds light on the bravery and dedication of Ukrainian soldiers as they face ongoing conflict in the eastern region of the country. The documentary offers a powerful message about the resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people even in the face of great adversity. It is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who put their lives on the line to protect their country and its people.

Several politicians have opposed providing billions of dollars in relief to foreign countries before allocating funds for security at the US-Mexico border.

Furthermore, these right-wing individuals have rejected any insinuation that they might be pawns of the Russian government and have labeled them as mere fabrications.

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden issued a statement saying that once the package is approved by Congress, he will quickly sign it into law. He wants to demonstrate to the world that the United States is supportive of its allies.

Ukraine heavily relies on the US and Western countries for weapons to continue its fight against Russia, as the latter outnumbers them and has a larger amount of artillery ammo.

The prolonged disagreement in congress has already caused significant consequences on the battlefield.

Due to the shortage of ammunition and a decrease in morale, Ukraine has been pushed back and overwhelmed by the opposing forces.

It withdrew from Avdiivka, a town close to the Donetsk city under occupation that it had controlled since the beginning of the conflict in 2014, during the month of February.

The leader in charge of the retreat, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, mentioned that his enemies had a significant advantage in terms of ammunition with a ratio of 10 to one. He stated that withdrawing was the only appropriate option after engaging in several months of intense combat.

President Zelensky identified a lack of weapons, which he believes was deliberately caused, as the reason for his request for immediate military assistance to prevent a disastrous scenario.

A Ukrainian soldier carried out warfare activities in an unknown region of Ukraine during the current week.

President Biden has mentioned that the decrease in resources is due to the lack of action from Congress, which is leading to the retreat.

The defeat suffered by Avdiivka was the most severe for Ukraine since its soldiers withdrew from Bakhmut back in May 2023.

Both actions happened following several months of warfare filled with attrition, where Russian troops used a lot of artillery to destroy buildings and sent numerous waves of soldiers to the front line.

According to General Sir Richard Barrons, a previous leader of the UK's Joint Forces Command, Ukraine could potentially lose the battle this year if they are not equipped with the necessary weaponry and ammunition to protect their borders.

According to him, Russia is continuously attacking the front line using an artillery force, ammunition, and more troops at a ratio of five to one.

The citizens of Ukraine might experience a sense of defeatism, making them question the purpose of fighting and risking their lives. When they reach this stage, what motivates them to continue the struggle?

Both parties have experienced significant damages in the conflicts, however, the increasing number of individuals killed or injured has resulted in a lack of personnel for Ukraine. In contrast, Russia does not face the same shortage of manpower.

Earlier this month, the government made a decision to decrease the age for conscription from 27 to 25 so that they can gather numerous new recruits.

According to President Zelensky, around 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have lost their lives since the year 2022. However, American officials hold a different view and estimate that a minimum of 70,000 soldiers have passed away, not to mention the considerable number of injured ones.

According to a report by BBC, it has been estimated that no less than 50,000 Russian soldiers have lost their lives, while many more have sustained injuries in the tens of thousands.

Russia has converted its manufacturing sector into an economy geared towards war, where it spends a significant 40% of its national budget on producing weapons. Additionally, it has formed agreements with Iran and North Korea to obtain supplies of ammunitions, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
