Stormy Daniels, who is known for her work in adult films, has recounted an uncomfortable and unplanned sexual encounter that she alleges took place with Donald Trump in 2006 before a group of jurors.

During the criminal trial of the former president, Ms Daniels gave her testimony regarding the hush money she received in order to maintain silence about the alleged incident that occurred during the presidential race.

According to Ms. Daniels, who is 45 years old, she made an effort to avoid thinking about engaging in sexual activity with him during their alleged encounter.

Later on, the group representing Trump took their chance to interrogate Ms Daniels and presented her as someone driven by a personal grudge against the ex-president while aiming to benefit financially from her allegations against him.

"Let me confirm, do you have a strong dislike for President Trump?" interrogated attorney Susan Necheles.

"Indeed," Ms Daniels agreed.

During the closing stages of the 2016 Republican presidential campaign, Mr Trump's former lawyer and close associate Michael Cohen paid $130,000 (£103,000) to Ms Daniels to prevent her from sharing details about a surprising and uncomfortable sexual encounter with Mr Trump at a celebrity golf event in Lake Tahoe in July 2006.

In 2018, Mr. Cohen admitted to breaking campaign finance laws regarding payments and was incarcerated for over a year. The federal prosecutors asserted that he did so under the direction of Mr. Trump.

Donald Trump, who is running for president on behalf of the Republican party once again, has denied any wrongdoing in regard to charges that he falsified business records to conceal a payment and also denies engaging in sexual conduct with Ms. Daniels.

Ms Daniels spoke about how their first encounter was at a golf tournament where they talked about the adult film industry. Later on, Mr Trump suggested they have dinner at his hotel suite and they had a "short" sexual encounter which he initiated.

According to her, she did not feel like she was in danger in terms of physical or verbal abuse during the incident. However, she did feel like there was a discrepancy in power dynamics as Mr. Trump was much larger and was obstructing her way.

She expressed her difficulty in fetching her shoes after the event since her hands were shaking intensely.

Ms. Daniels recounted that the gentleman stated, "It was fantastic. We should arrange another meeting, my dear." She expressed that her desire was to depart at that moment.

There are 34 criminal charges against Mr. Trump for making fake business records related to the payments for silence.

A federal judge has indefinitely delayed Mr. Trump's upcoming trial in Florida, where he faces accusations of unlawfully possessing confidential documents at his Mar-a-Lago property after his term ended. The trial was set to commence on 20 May.
