Devin Haney has claimed that Ryan Garcia has been engaging in dishonest tactics and showing disrespect towards the sport of boxing. These accusations stem from alleged reports of Garcia failing drug tests both prior to and after their fight.

During the Brooklyn match on 20 April, Garcia defeated Haney through a decision victory after knocking him down three times. Prior to the bout, there was a lot of hype and concern over “King Ryan” missing the weight limit by three pounds and behaving oddly. To ensure his mental well-being, Garcia went through a mental health assessment, although he later admitted that his behavior was an intentional act. He is presently 25 years old.

Dan Rafael and ESPN announced on Wednesday that Garcia did not pass a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (Vada) test on April 19th, which was the day right before the fight, and then again after the fight on April 20th. It appears that Garcia tested positive for an illegal substance called Ostarine in both tests. The Independent has attempted to get a hold of Vada for further information.

Haney, who is currently 25 years old, has released a statement to ESPN regarding the recent situation. According to Haney, they didn't know about it until recently, and it's disappointing to hear that Ryan cheated in the boxing ring by fighting dirty twice. This not only disrespects the sport, but also the fans who have high expectations for fair competition.

Ryan needs to say sorry to the fans, but his latest tweet shows that he's still not taking things seriously. Our job involves risking our lives just to keep people entertained. We can't treat boxing like it's just a game.

This changes the perspective of the fight entirely. Even though I was at a disadvantage, I persevered and made a comeback! It's worth noting that athletes can sometimes sustain fatal injuries in this sport. It's not something to be taken lightly.

Before Garcia beat him, Haney had not been defeated. But Garcia was not able to take Haney's WBC super-lightweight belt because he failed to make weight and was disqualified.

On X (previously known as Twitter), Garcia spoke about the reports that came out on Wednesday. He shared that everyone is aware that he doesn't cheat and has never used steroids. He even mentioned that he isn't sure where to get them. To add, he only takes a few supplements. Garcia deemed the accusations as false as he beat the person mentioned in the reports.

It's really disappointing that they're attempting to nullify my most outstanding achievement. It's quite perplexing why I would agree to undergo a drug test if my intention was to consume drugs.

Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions manages Garcia, and they confirmed that they support him in his claim that he did not intentionally use any prohibited substances. According to them, Garcia has made several declarations regarding this issue and they have faith in his words.
