Ronnie O'Sullivan promised to win the coveted golden ball in the following year, having emerged successful against Luca Brecel in the ultimate match of the first ever World Masters of Snooker.

In Saudi Arabia, O'Sullivan emerged victorious with a score of 5-2 against the reigning world champion, thereby adding his fifth title to the tally for this season.

However, he did not succeed in pocketing the golden ball that remains on the bottom cushion until a maximum break is achievable. This ball is worth £395,000 if it is pocketed on top of the 147 points.

In the tournament held in Riyadh, John Higgins nearly had the opportunity to play with the golden ball. During his second-round game against Mark Williams, he successfully cleared all the 15 red balls and black balls in the first frame. Unfortunately, he failed to position himself for the yellow ball.

O'Sullivan, who earned a cash prize of £250,000 by emerging victorious in the tournament, is determined to replicate his success at the upcoming competition.

O'Sullivan exclaimed to DAZN that the tournament has been superb, the location has been splendid, and the audience has been incredible.

We haven't been in the Middle East for a while, so coming back here is a great pleasure.

Next year, I am determined to achieve the golden ball. I deliberately chose not to pursue it all at once.

"I am confident that I will win the tournament this year, and I have set my sights on winning the golden ball next year. I am excited about the prospects of achieving this."

O'Sullivan managed to score 95 points in a row and won the first round, but Brecel made a comeback in the second round and tied the game.

The individual from Belgium won the third round swiftly with a score of 81 which allowed them to take the lead. However, they missed a crucial black in the following round, which enabled O'Sullivan to even the score by clearing the table with a score of 94.

O'Sullivan emerged as the winner after the break, achieving success with two impressive scores of 121 and 124, earning him his remarkable 79th professional championship.

"I had some amazing days playing, and I am grateful for the experience," expressed Brecel, the second-placed contestant. "The audience was exceptional, and their support was greatly appreciated."
