Prince Harry Praises Invictus Games' Family's Dedication And Spirit

Prince Harry has expressed his appreciation for the Invictus Games community's dedication, passion, and faithfulness as he came back to the United Kingdom to commemorate a decade of the athletic competition.

Since 2014, Harry has led the initiative to organize a Paralympics-inspired competition for the benefit of injured or ill service personnel and veterans. Recently, he participated in an Invictus summit, reflecting on the last 10 years of the event.

The duke recently traveled to the country to see the King following his diagnosis of cancer. There is talk that he may have a chance to meet with his son sometime this week.

Harry made his way to the headquarters of Honourable Artillery Company that is located on the outskirts of the City of London. He was attending a summit named Invictus Games Foundation Conversation, which was scheduled for one day. After this event, he was also set to attend a ceremony at St. Paul's Cathedral on Wednesday that was meant to mark the 10th anniversary.

In the introduction to the summit, Harry expressed his gratitude for seeing the progress of the Invictus Games Foundation over time. Initially, the organization aimed to honor the bravery and perseverance of military personnel and veterans who suffered injuries or illnesses. Nowadays, it has expanded globally as a symbol of positivity, determination, and solidarity.

Harry got the idea to create the worldwide competition when he went to the Warrior Games in Colorado back in 2013. The experience showed him how injured American soldiers improved when they participated in competitive sports that helped with their healing process.

After that, he organized and directed the initial competitions that took place at the Olympic Park located in London in the year 2014. Later on, he proceeded to host the events in Orlando in 2016, Toronto in 2017, and Sydney in 2018.

The people in charge declared that Invictus will take place once every two years starting from 2020. However, the event that was set to happen in The Hague during that year was postponed to 2022 because of the pandemic. The one in Dusseldorf will happen in 2023 and Vancouver Whistler will host in 2025.

The duke has written a message expressing excitement for the upcoming Vancouver Whistler 2025 winter hybrid Games. He also mentions how he looks forward to celebrating the Invictus Spirit once again. This spirit is shown by every participant, staff member, and loved one involved in the event. The dedication, energy, and positive attitude of everyone involved have been a crucial factor in the continued prosperity of the event.

He said: "We have worked together to establish something that goes beyond just sports; a society that values empathy, dignity, and the unwavering conviction in the potential of humanity. While we honor this accomplishment, we must renew our dedication to the Invictus cause."
