Martha Sues Gadd: A Real Threat

Richard Gadd's character, Donny Dunn, in Baby Reindeer is a comedian who has a tough time making ends meet, so he works at a pub as a bartender. One day, Donny shows some kindness to a customer named Martha Scott who is lonely. As a result, Martha starts following Donny around, which makes him feel uncomfortable.

Reportedly, a woman known as "Martha" has been accused of stalking comedian Gadd for over four years. The alleged stalker sent him a colossal amount of emails (41,000) and voicemails (350+ hours). "Martha" was finally revealed after numerous fans of the show attempted to uncover her identity. In an interview with The Daily Mail, she came forward but chose to remain anonymous.

During the interview, the genuine Martha issued a warning to Gadd that she might take legal action against him. She accused him of trying to bring her down to achieve fame and referred to it as a form of bullying.

Stephen King has provided his commendation for the Netflix stalker series, known as 'Baby Reindeer.' In an essay he recently wrote, he praised the show for its creative direction and acting performances. King, who is recognized for his famous horror novels, is among the many viewers who have become fans of the series. His essay speaks to the exceptional qualities of the show and why it is receiving such great attention.

Baby Reindeer has a lot of supporters including famous scary book writer Steven King. He just wrote an article saying great things about Gadd and the series. He compared it to Misery, a popular book that was made into a movie.

The story is about a nurse who becomes overly fixated on a specific author, leading her to keep him hostage in her secluded Colorado residence following his involvement in a car accident during a snowstorm. This results in a miserable situation.

In the 1990 film, the role of nurse Annie Wilkes was played by Kathy Bates and she won the Best Actress Oscar for it. Meanwhile, the character of seriously injured author Paul Sheldon was played by James Caan, who has since passed away.

Richard Gadd talks about the empathy he has for 'Martha' in the Netflix panel for Forbes' Baby Reindeer, as reported by Tim Lammers.
