ITV is releasing a fresh thriller later in the week and review experts are already comparing it to Stranger Things. The show's cast, who have won the highly coveted Bafta awards, are also receiving immense recognition for their performance.

The article delves into the effects of the enigmatic vanishing of a girl named Katie Wells on a community residing in a small town.

Without recognizing the fact that the girl was missing, she appears the following day, appearing to be unharmed.

Riya, the main character who is not from the local community, decides to ask the people living in the nearby town some in-depth questions about a particular incident. However, it seems that they are unwilling to discuss the matter.

According to the creators of the series, what comes next are a sequence of peculiar occurrences and progressively appalling offenses.

They say, "As the situation gets more peculiar," Riya puts in a lot of effort to persuade the villagers that things are not what they appear to be. Nonetheless, what is the cause of their fear?"

Riya is in a state of perplexity... things are not unfolding as they appear, so will Riya be able to unravel the truth?

Who Stars In Passenger Movie?

Wunmi Mosaku, who starred in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, plays the role of Riya Ajunwa, a former detective from the Metropolitan Police. In the series, she investigates a series of crimes that are unusual and difficult to understand.

At the same time, David Threlfall (known for his role in Shameless) portrays a supervisor at a nearby fracking location. Local inhabitants accuse him of being accountable for the unusual occurrences happening around them due to their narrow-minded viewpoints.

Rowan Robinson, the actress who portrayed the vanishing young girl at the start of the performance, also featured in the enigmatic character in the 2023 Poirot film set in Venice named A Haunting in Venice.

The remaining members of the cast are:

Andrew Buchan, known for his previous acting roles in Better and Carnival Row, has ventured into his debut project as a writer with a series comprising of six episodes.

When the drama was first introduced, Buchan expressed his admiration for productions that bring the familiar and unfamiliar together. He enjoys shows that depict communities confronting something terrifying and unexplainable. As a viewer, you are left without any clues to make sense of it.

When I commenced writing the scripts, I aimed to craft a story of grandeur and mystery while keeping it rooted in a familiar setting. As I hail from Lancashire, it seemed like the most suitable location. The inhabitants of Chadder Vale will undoubtedly face extreme challenges.

Passenger Movie Location?

The program takes place in an imaginary northern locality called Cheddar Vale.

Passenger, a filmed production, had its scenes shot in several locations, including The Mercury Hotel situated in Westhoughton, Bolton. Notably, a classic canteen built in the hotel lounge explicitly designed for the movie's filming.

Last summer, the filming team was seen in Greenfield, Oldham. The residents of the area were informed of the recording process through letters sent to them.

Locals stated that the entire Saddleworth village underwent a complete transformation to accommodate a movie production. Film crews were busy filming scenes on Manchester Road.

Actually, most of the filming took place at a solitary house located on Manchester Road.

According to Wigan Today, it was reported that another place was used for filming, namely Haigh Hall in Wigan. Supposedly, a scene depicting the winter season was filmed there.

As reported by the Halifax Courier, Todmorden and Cornholme in Yorkshire were also captured on camera.

What's The Episode Count?

Passengers has a total of six episodes scheduled to air on both ITV1 and ITVX.

The first episode of Passenger will be shown at 9 o'clock in the evening on Sunday, March 24 on ITV1. The second episode is set to be aired at the identical time on Monday, March 25. The succeeding episodes will also be displayed on the same timeslots "in the next few weeks".

The show will also debut on BritBox throughout various countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.
