Alexander, the former frontman of Years & Years, performed his own song "Dizzy" at Malmö Arena in Sweden, which will host the grand final this Saturday (11 May).

The presentation showcased an inventive setup with the locker room arranged in an inverted position, and a group of additional dancers supporting the main performers.

After Olly Alexander's performance in the semi-final, some people on social media criticized his vocals, claiming that they sounded unstable. One particular viewer on Twitter expressed disappointment as they had high expectations for the UK's entry in Eurovision this year.

Someone else said: "To be truthful, Olly Alexander's voice isn't up to par."

Did anyone notice that Olly Alexander was singing off key during that performance? It just didn't sound right. Someone else wondered if they were trying to hype him up for the Brit Awards, even though he seemed to be off key for the entire show.

"I'm sorry, but Olly Alexander's performance was not on point," another spectator concurred. "Maybe he was too low or soft, I'm not certain, but it wasn't excellent."

"Olly Alexander didn't sound good," lamented a Eurovision enthusiast.

The Eurovision competition is known for its appreciation of powerful singing, exemplified by Loreen's victory for Sweden in the previous year with her moving song "Tattoo".

Some supporters of Alexander came to his defense, pointing out that he experienced a technical difficulty during his performance.

Did you all see Olly's microphone pack accidentally fall off? This observation was made by Twitter user Dave Hope, who only noticed it when rewatching. As someone who works as a gym instructor, Dave knows how much of a distraction something like that can be. Despite the mishap, Olly's performance was still incredible and now even more impressive. Way to go, Olly!

During a recent interview, Alexander acknowledged that he had been facing difficulties. This came after the journalist mentioned that his demeanor seemed low-spirited while performing at a Eurovision pre-party held in London.

He said to The Times that he had a difficult time that day. He was alone in a room attempting to control his emotions. Usually, he can perform well on stage, but he didn't feel able to do so that day. It was challenging for him. Unfortunately, he couldn't handle the situation, and he was full of shame and embarrassment.

In the past few months, Alexander has been experiencing a lot of strain because of Israel's participation in the Eurovision event. Many fans of the competition are unhappy with Israel's involvement because they disagree with the country's ongoing conflict with Gaza.

In the previous month, he replied to a public letter written by Queers for Palestine, a group of over 450 queer creators, people, and groups requesting him to quit the competition to demonstrate his objection to Israel. However, Alexander and the other contestants in Eurovision confirmed that they would still perform.

In the initial semi-final, Bambie Thug, the representative from Ireland, effortlessly made it to the grand final occurring on Saturday. Other contestants that were expected to excel, such as Baby Lasagna from Croatia and Alyana Alyana and Jerry Heil from Ukraine, also advanced.

The upcoming Eurovision semi-final is set to occur on the 9th of May, which falls on a Thursday.
