Luke Littler defeated his colleague Nathan Aspinall to clinch his first Premier League evening victory in Belfast.

After narrowly defeating Luke Humphries in the final leg of the first quarter-final at SSE Arena, Littler continued on with great momentum. His victory put an end to the reigning world champion's three-night winning streak in the Premier League, and he never lost his lead afterwards.

The teenager, who became a champion at the Bahrain Masters, PDC Players Championship, and Belgian Open during a successful year, continued his winning streak by defeating Michael Van Gerwen 6-3. Van Gerwen had previously defeated the teenager in the Berlin final during night two.

In the first leg of the final, 'The Nuke' scored a 136 checkout. He nearly completed a 170 in the second leg, but unfortunately missed. As a result, Aspinall was able to break his throw and take a 3-1 lead.

Despite being behind, Littler put up a strong fight and tied the game with an impressive display of skill, hitting a bullseye and then another bullseye to score 25 points. Aspinall, who is a good friend of Littler, gave him a high-five to show his support. Littler then continued to play well and was only one leg away from winning at a score of 5-3.

Aspinall made a strong effort to even the score in the following round, but Littler ultimately succeeded in hitting double 10 to secure the win.

Littler's success on the ninth night has propelled them to second place in the rankings, trailing Humphries by a margin of four points. Meanwhile, Aspinall has secured the fourth position, which guarantees a spot in the upcoming playoffs.

On Sky Sports, Littler expressed his joy for winning his first championship.

You might have noticed that I've altered my throwing technique by allowing myself a bit more time before releasing the last two. I've dedicated myself to additional training, and it has yielded positive results.

"I am really looking forward to my upcoming trip to Manchester. Although I have a tough opponent, Michael Van Gerwen, in the first round, I'm excited to see how my friend Nathan performs in his hometown."

Aspinall excelled in reaching his fourth finals appearance during this year’s Premier League campaign by defeating Peter Wright with a score of 6-2. During the match, he phenomenally achieved 14 scores that exceeded 100.

In the previous quarter-finals, Van Gerwen, who holds the Premier League title, managed to recover from being 4-2 behind against the former world champion Michael Smith. He won the final four legs and secured his triumph with a 150 checkout.

Aspinall emerged victorious over Gerwyn Price, who had won the tournament in Belfast the previous year, in a tense final leg, pushing the Welshman further behind in the race for the play-offs. Meanwhile, Wright defeated Rob Cross, the reigning world champion from 2018, by a score of 6-3.
