KKR vs PBKS: Jonny Bairstow returns to form, silences critics with 45-ball hundred

KKR vs PBKS

In the IPL match against KKR on April 26, Jonny Bairstow was able to hit one of the quickest centuries ever scored by a PBKS player in history. The impressive milestone was reached by the 34-year-old player during the game, which took place at the famous Eden Gardens location in Kolkata.

In May 2013, David Miller achieved the distinction of achieving a 38-ball century against RCB and setting a new record. Mayank Agarwal shares the second position with Bairstow after scoring a century off 45 balls against Rajasthan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in 2020.

Bairstow joined the IPL after struggling in the 5-match Test series against India while playing for England. Although he had some impressive beginnings, he was unable to turn them into runs. Even though he reached his 100th Test during the series, he could not gain any batting momentum. Nevertheless, PBKS believed in him and selected him as an opener in their starting lineup.

The Punjab Kings' latest tweet is full of emoticons that express excitement and enthusiasm about a player's batting performance. The use of emoji in this tweet is common on social media platforms, where people often use them to convey emotions or convey tone. With regards to the player mentioned, it is unclear who it is, as the tweet does not provide any context or specific details. Overall, the tweet seems to be celebrating a batting masterclass by one of the Punjab Kings' players.

Nevertheless, the initial batsman from England stumbled during the start of the match. The PBKS team didn't wait too long before leaving him out of the playing eleven. However, Bairstow made a comeback into the squad due to the omission of the dynamic player Liam Livingstone, who was given a chance earlier.

During the game where KKR played, Bairstow faced a daunting challenge. This happened after Punjab was requested to pursue a considerable aim of 262 in just 20 overs. However, Bairstow managed to establish a strong partnership with Prabhsimran Singh and both players managed to get 93 runs for the opening wicket. Prabhsimran Singh also performed impressively by scoring 54 runs off 20 balls.

Later on, Bairstow and Rilee Rossouw teamed up and put together a useful collaboration of 85 runs for the second wicket. When Rossouw was dismissed by Sunil Narine, Bairstow took responsibility and continued to hit the KKR bowlers all over the field.
