‘We want people to see the kit launch and think maybe I can play disability football’

England kit

Bolding is widely acknowledged as one of the top powerchair football players in the world. He came very close to leading England to the 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in October, but unfortunately, lost in a penalty shootout.

According to him: "Having this extent of visibility can greatly benefit our sport, and the Football Association has made significant contributions to promote the advancement of powerchair football in recent times."

The FA and England utilize various channels to promote disability football. Through these efforts, individuals with impairments who are not aware of these sports could become aware of them. These efforts may inspire them and enhance their quality of life, just like how powerchair football helped me when I was younger.

Powerchair football transformed my life, and if it weren't for it, all the amazing encounters I've had would not have happened. I hope that this kit launch will serve as an introduction to disability sports for many people, and that their lives will also be positively impacted, just as mine has been.

Here at the FA, we firmly believe that everyone should have access to football. It's been three years since we launched our groundbreaking Football Your Way initiative, which aims to enhance, advance, and promote Disability Football throughout England.

This new proposal is unique and focuses on seven crucial aspects (which you can read more about), and one of them is to offer exceptional coaching and support to our Para teams as they strive to win top ranks.

By the year 2023, some of our para teams from England were able to receive medals at either World or European championships. Among them, our men's team for those who are partially sighted was able to achieve this remarkable feat.

During the IBSA World Championship final game, England PS suffered a defeat from Ukraine due to a last-second goal. However, Adam Lione, the striker for England, managed to score three goals, making it a hat-trick performance.

Lione expressed that she was completely unaware of the existence of the England Partially Sighted team until her England trial 14 years ago. She is pleased to see the progress the team has made since then and feels delighted that disability football role models are gaining more exposure.

Simply by sharing England Blind international Azeem Amir's daily life experiences on Instagram, people can gain a better understanding of how he manages his day-to-day activities. This small act of introducing others to Azeem on social media has the potential to provide support to those who may need it.

My wish is that individuals perceive us as a significant aspect of the kit launch, and that in case they were unaware of the existence of the England Partially Sighted team or the England Powerchair team, this will inspire them to attempt it out.

Our goal is for individuals to come across the campaign and consider the possibility of participating in disability football, or pushing themselves to try new things. We want people to realize that football is an activity that provides an inclusive environment for everyone to feel welcome.

The disability football programme in England is developing every year, along with the popular FA Disability Cup. The finals of this two-day event are now aired on TNT Sport from St. George's Park.

As more people become aware of the teams that are dedicated to specific impairments, the players are able to reach a greater number of viewers. This is especially important as they can inspire children who are passionate about football all over the country.

Matt Oaten, defender for the England Deaf Men's team, shared that during his childhood, he didn't have any deaf football role models to look up to. However, when he began playing deaf football with Fulham, he quickly developed the aspiration of one day donning the England shirt.

Wearing the national team jersey is an unparalleled sensation, and I always appreciate and value the opportunity.

Participating in events like this kit launch is truly magnificent because it enables us to extend our reach to deaf children and other individuals with disabilities who may not have access to positive influences.

The deaf community has achieved a notable milestone today, as their representation has reached a new peak ???? ⚽️. This is evident from a tweet shared on social media, which showcases the community's passion for soccer (football).

The Deaf men's team of England is consistently striving to spread awareness about their sport and prove to deaf kids that they can conquer any obstacle and attain success.

Getting messages from parents of children who tell you how much you have influenced them is an exceptional and fantastic sensation.

"It's amazing that children who have a disability now have these inspiring figures they can admire. I do my utmost to become a person that young people can aspire to be like, and a model of something they can aim for."
