At the ripe old age of 98, Sir David Attenborough has just finished his most recent show called "Mammals." He has managed to break new records for being the presenter and naturalist who has worked in television for the longest time.

He has been active in his profession for an astonishing span of 70 years and 246 days.

He started his career on TV on September 2, 1953 as a host of "Animal Disguises," a show for kids on BBC Children's Television. This show was related to his previous job as a producer and director for "Animal Patterns" earlier that same year.

Sir David is a highly accomplished television personality whose career spans over 80 years. He holds a unique distinction in the industry as the only individual to have received BAFTA accolades for shows presented in variegated formats such as black and white, colour, high-definition, and 3D.

Sir David has embraced the current age and grabbed everyone's attention in 2020. He created a buzz by setting a new record for the quickest time to reach 1 million followers on Instagram, achieving this accolade within a mere 4 hours and 44 minutes. In doing so, he broke Jennifer Aniston's previous record by 32 minutes.

He shared his distress about the issues faced by the world in his first ever Instagram post. However, he stopped posting on the platform after a span of six weeks. In his last message, he left the followers to ponder over the fact that it was up to the collective efforts of individuals to determine the course of events that follow.

Besides his TV achievements, Sir David's wide range of productions that mix education and entertainment and his distinguished green advocacy have resulted in him receiving more than 30 academic honors and being knighted twice.

He gained acknowledgement in the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame in the year 2022.

When Sir David was thinking back on his impressive profession, he mentioned that making "Life on Earth" (1979) was the most difficult series he had ever worked on. It involved creating 13 parts and took three whole years to produce, which included two long trips around the world.
