If Angela Rayner, the deputy leader of the Labour party, is discovered to have broken any laws, she has stated that she will resign from her position.

She expressed her assurance that she has complied with the regulations at all times, according to her statement.

She has been charged with providing inaccurate details regarding her primary dwelling during a dispute over the occupants of her previous government-owned property.

The authorities of the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are currently looking into the probability of criminal activities that may have taken place and violate the law.

Ms Rayner of the Labour Party stated in a released message that if she were to commit a criminal act, she would take appropriate action and resign from her position.

British citizens have the right to demand that their politicians follow rules and laws just like everyone else.

The Member of Parliament, who also holds the position of the Labour party's spokesperson regarding housing matters, expressed her eagerness to present the details to the appropriate officials without delay.

She stated: "The inquiries pertain to a period when I wasn't a member of parliament. I have clarified my family's situation and consulted with knowledgeable professionals in tax and legal matters."

The cops started looking into the matter after a report from James Daly, the Tory deputy chairman. Apparently, he informed the police about Ms Rayner's neighbors contradicting her statement regarding her primary residence being a separate property from her husband's.

At first, the police stated that they wouldn't carry out an investigation. However, Mr. Daly, who represents Bury North in Parliament, brought up concerns that the officers didn't seem to have checked the electoral roll or other relevant paperwork, nor had they questioned any of the local residents.

A representative from the police force in Greater Manchester has stated that they are currently looking into whether any criminal acts have taken place. They are doing this because they re-examined the details given to them by Mr. Daly.

The authority did not disclose any additional information regarding their inquiry.

Ms Rayner, who was previously known as Bowen, purchased a semi-detached property under the Right to Buy initiative in 2007, receiving a discount of 25%. This initiative was introduced by former Conservative Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. It is reported that Ms Rayner earned a profit of £48,500 when she sold the house eight years later.

The ex-caretaker used to be listed as a resident of a house located on Vicarage Road, which can be found in Greater Manchester. This information was confirmed through the electoral register, but it only remained accurate until she sold the property during the year 2015.

However, it seems like she provided different addresses during the re-registration of her two children's births in 2010 after getting married to Mark Rayner. She mentioned her ex-spouse's residency on Lowndes Lane as her own.

The center of the disagreement is which dwelling place she primarily lived in. Specialists in taxation predict that she might be liable for as much as £3,500 for Capital Gains Tax in the direst outcome, although there is also a possibility that she won't owe anything at all.

In her statement, Ms Rayner expressed that she would not retract her actions of holding Conservative ministers responsible in the earlier times. Further, she remarked that the Tory Party has applied this tactic previously, where they would alert law enforcement officials about their adversaries during election periods to diverge attention from their own performance record.

During 2022, the Conservatives accused Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of her party, of breaking the lockdown rules in the incident known as "Beergate" and reported him to the police. However, he was subsequently declared innocent.

Previously, Sir Keir expressed his complete trust that Angela Rayner did not violate any regulations.
